ShutterLand exterior shutters standard shipping rates apply to orders shipped to the 48 continental United States. Special shipping rates and instructions apply for orders shipped to Hawaii and Alaska as well as international shutters.
The shipping rate charged to the customer is the actual amount charged by the carrier. Our standard shipping rate will be charged at the time of the order. After the order is complete and packaged, the boxes containing international shutters will be weighed and measured. We then quote the additional amount necessary to ship to the specified location and charge the additional amount with the balance due.
It is very difficult to quote the actual shipping amount before the order is complete.
To estimate size and weight assume up to four decorative shutters per box.
Weight estimate: (width of panel contained within box) * (height of same) * (.02)
Size estimate: Add 5 to the number of panels in the box to determine the lenght (5 + 4 panels = 9″). Height of the box is 6 inches longer than the height of the panel. Width is about 6 inches wider than the panel width.
We often find this process involves large amounts of time, communication, and unfamiliar procedure. We realize some carriers claim hassle free shipping to Canada or other locations, but that has not been our experience. We require the following for international shutter shipments:
An additional $250 processing fee.
The customer arranges for and initiates the method of transit to pick-up of the international shutters from our manufacturing facility in Alabama (35951) and pays all charges and fees associated with shipping.
All documentation needed by the carrier completed in full (typed) by the customer and digitally transmitted (not faxed for clarity purposes) to us.
Alternatively, you may opt to have us ship to an export company inside the United States. They will then handle all of the necessary paperwork to get the product to you.
When the order is complete, we will supply you with the weights and sizes of all of the boxes. To estimate transit costs, uses the calculations above under “Hawaii & Alaska”.
